Morning Vitality Smoothie
A nutrient-dense breakfast can provide sustained energy and brain power to get you through the day. Dark leafy greens, high quality fats and high-power antioxidants make this drink a great option to bank great nutrition in one powerful drinkable meal.
1 cupdark leafy greens (kale, spinach, chard), fresh or frozen
1 cupblueberries, fresh or frozen
1 tbspground flax meal, chia seeds or hemp hearts
1 tbspnut or seed butter (almond, peanut, sunflower, etc.)
1 tspground cinnamon
1⁄2 tspground ginger
1⁄2 tspground turmeric
1 pinchblack pepper
1 cupfiltered water, more to taste
Directions: In a blender, place greens, blueberries, date, flax meal, nut butter, spices and 1 cup water. Blend until smooth. Add more water to achieve preferred consistency. Serve over ice.
